The Georgia Southern Eagles have to be happy with their overall 9-4 mark but losses in three of four hasn’t been good. Georgia Southern comes in off of a 79-59 defeat at the ETSU Buccaneers as a 5.5 point underdog where the team was outshot 48.3%-40.7% with the Buccaneers totaling six more shots.

East Tennessee State had several options at the offensive end but Tookie Brown was Georgia Southern’s lone double digit scorer with a contest high 24 points and five pulls on 9-16 from the floor. Mike Hughes and Shawn O’Connell gave the Eagles nine points apiece with a combined 14 rebounds while BJ Gladden chipped in with seven points.
The Troy Trojans finished their non-conference schedule at 6-7 and struggled over the last few weeks with four straight losses before getting back in the win column with an 80-67 victory over the subdivision Milligan Buffaloes. Both teams sank shots at around 41% but Troy owned a 24-3 advantage at the foul line.
Wesley Person Jr. was the top scorer for the Trojans with 23 points on 5-16 from the floor including 10-10 at the stripe. BJ Miller and Juan Davis Jr. gave Troy 13 points apiece with Davis totaling ten boards on 10-15 shooting followed by Javan Johnson and Alex Hicks with a combined 20 points with Hicks hauling in 12 rebounds.
