The Charleston Cougars host the Towson Tigers in Saturday college basketball action.
The Towson Tigers had won eight in a row before losing back to back contests heading in to the Colonial opener. Towson comes off of a 63-59 loss at the Pitt Panthers as a four point favorite where the offense never found a groove. The Tigers were outshot 39.3%-35.5% with a 1-15 performance costing the team a winnable game.

Towson stayed in the game thanks to a 20 point effort from Zane Martin on 7-16 from the floor. Mike Morsell gave the Tigers eleven points on 4-11 including an 0-5 effort from distance while the twosome of Eddie Keith II and Justin Gorham combined for 15 points and 13 rebounds.
The Charleston Cougars have been red hot heading in their conference opener with wins in seven of eight capped off by a 67-65 victory at the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers as a 1.5 point favorite. Both teams sank shots at around 44% with the Cougars hitting an extra field goal while Coastal Carolina was only 1-16 on threes.
Charleston relied heavily on Grant Riler who pumped in a contest high 24 points with four yanks on 9-14 from the floor followed by Joe Chealey with 14 points and three pulls on 5-10 shooting. Cameron Johnson gave the Cougars eleven points and three boards while Jarrell Brantley chipped in with eight points and five rebounds.
Under is 8-2 in Towson last 10 overall and Towson are 10-4-2 ATS in their last 16 games overall and under is 11-5 in Towson last 16 Saturday games. Charleston are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 Saturday games and over is 9-3 in Charleston last 12 Saturday games and Charleston are 20-41-2 ATS in their last 63 home games.
Charleston and Towson could be the two best teams in the Colonial but the edge in my eyes belongs to the home team…
