The #13 UNC Tar Heels will try to keep their own momentum going after bouncing back from a shock loss to Wofford with an 86-72 win over Ohio State in their last outing, giving UNC their 6th win in their last 7 games. Theo Pinson and Joel Berry II tied for the team lead with 19 points apiece, with Pinson going 4 of 11 from the floor with a perfect 10 of 10 mark from the foul line, while Berry II shot 7 of 14 with 3 triples. Cameron Johnson added 14 points on 4 of 7 shooting with a pair of threes, while Jalek Felton added 12 points on 4 of 5 from behind the arc and a team-high 5 assists in just 12 minutes on the floor to round out the scoring in double figures for UNC in the win. Luke Made fell just one point shy of a double-double with 9 points to go along with 10 rebounds and a pair of steals, but still leads the team by averaging a double-double per game this season with an average of 18.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Pinson is the team’s leading assist man, dishing out 4.4 assists per game this season. As a team, UNC is scoring 86.2 points per game on 47.9% shooting from the field, 39.6% from behind the arc and 71.8% from the foul line this season.
Wake Forest is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a loss while the over is 15-2 in their last 17 conference matchups. North Carolina is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 conference matchups while the over is 7-0 in their last 7 home games. The underdog is 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings between these two teams.
UNC is coming off of that big win against Ohio State but this seems like a lot of points to give up against a Wake Forest team that always seems to play the Tar Heels tough. I mean Wake lost by 6 points in the meeting last season, and the underdog has had the bulk of the success ATS in this matchup, so I’ll take a shot with Wake Forest and the points.
