Up at Joyce Center on Saturday, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be meeting up on the college basketball court.

Georgia Tech is currently 6-6 on the season so far. After falling in succession to Georgia and Wright State, the Yellow Jackets beat Coppin State in their last appearance. In that one, Ben Lammers put up 22 points for GT.

USA TODAY Sports

Leading the Yellow Jackets in scoring is Josh Okogie, with 18.5 PPG in four games, and Tadric Jackson with 15.9 PPG in nine games. Also carrying double-digit averages for Georgia Tech are Jose Alvarado (13.2 PPG) and Lammers (13.0 PPG; 8.5 RPG).

As for Notre Dame, they’re 10-3 this season. The Irish have won their last two games versus Dartmouth and SE Louisiana. In the SE Louisiana game, the Irish’s top scorer was TJ Gibbs with 18 points.

Tops in scoring for Notre Dame is Bonzie Colson with 21.3 PPG and 9.8 RPG—also a team-high. Matt Farrell (16.8 PPG) and Gibbs (14.4 PPG) are also averaging in double-digits for the Fighting Irish.

The Jackets are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 versus the ACC and 1-4 ATS in their last five overall. The over is 4-1 in Georgia Tech’s last five overall and the under is 6-2 in the last eight Saturday games.

Meanwhile, the Irish are 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the ACC and 1-4 ATS in their last five overall. Notre Dame is also 1-5 ATS in their last six home games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following a straight-up win.

Georgia Tech has a reasonably solid roster this season, but they are prone to lapses both offensively and defensively. Notre Dame throws up a dud here and there as well, but only one of their losses has come by more than three points this year. I like the Irish to come out strong here and cover.
