The Old Dominion Monarchs will look to keep their 4 game winning streak and their unbeaten home record in tact after a 61-50 victory over Norfolk State in their last outing. B.J. Stith led the team with 17 points and 8 rebounds, while Ahmad Caver added 15 points and 4 steals with a team-high 6 assists and Trey Porter chipped in 14 points. Randy Haynes added 7 points with 8 rebounds and 3 steals, while Brandan Smith chipped in 6 points with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. B.J. The Monarchs also boast one of the toughest defensive units in the country, giving up the 9th-fewest points per game in the country, allowing 61 points per game this season.
Charlotte is 7-19 ATS in their last 26 road games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall while the under is 8-2 in their last 10 road games against a team with a winning home record. Old Dominion is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games and 6-15 ATS in their last 21 games following a win while the over is 10-4 in their last 14 conference matchups.
I don’t doubt that Old Dominion is the better team here and they play solid defence. However, this is a ton of points to lay with an Old Dominion team that doesn’t score much to begin with. The Monarchs routed Charlotte by 24 in their last meeting, but the previous 5 meetings before than had been decided by single digits. It’s a lean at best, but I think the best option here is to take Charlotte and the points.
