The #23 Seton Hall Pirates will be looking to add to their current 3 game win streak after opening conference play with a 90-84 victory over Creighton to give the Pirates their 5th win in 6 games. Desi Rodriguez led the team with 23 points and 5 steals, while Angel Delgado and Khadeen Carrington each added 18 points. Delgado added a team-high 14 rebounds and 5 assists, while Carrington added a pair of threes and 3 assists. Myles Powell added 17 points with 3 threes to round out the scoring in double figures for the Pirates in the win. Michael Nzei added 7 points and 14 rebounds with a pair of steals as well in the winning effort for Seton Hall. Rodriguez leads the team in scoring with an average of 18.3 points per game, while Carrington leads the way in assists with 3.9 per game and Delgado is averaging a double-double per game with 13.8 points to go along with a team-high average of 11.5 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Seton Hall is scoring 81.2 points per game on 48.5% shooting from the field, 36.1% from behind the arc and 65.8% from the foul line this season.

St. John’s is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 conference matchups and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games while the under is 9-3 in their last 12 games following a loss. Seton Hall is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 conference matchups and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a win while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record. St. John’s is 1-11 ATS in their last 12 trips to Seton Hall.

It seems like every year, Seton Hall starts conference play with a ton of confidence and then the Pirates fail to live up to expectations. This year however, just feels different as the team has veteran leadership and experience that they’ve lacked in years past. This may be the best Seton Hall team we’ve seen in a long time, and that’s not good for a St. John’s team that has downright struggled ATS in Seton Hall’s backyard. I think this is a good spot to back the Pirates by double figures.
