USA TODAY Sports

The College of Charleston Cougars won their 3rd straight game and improved to 10-3 (1-0 CAA) on the season after defeating the Towson Tigers, 73-62, this past Saturday. College of Charleston led by a 36-34 margin at halftime and pulled away after a 10-1 Cougars run gave Charleston a 52-40 lead midway through the 2nd half. College of Charleston shot 51.2% from the field and 42.9% (9-21) from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Cougars was Jarrell Brantley who had 24 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block. On the season, College of Charleston is averaging 69.8 ppg on 42.3% shooting from the field. The Cougars are averaging 7.8 three-pointers per game on 34.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, College of Charleston has been led by Joe Chealey (17.2 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 4.5 apg), Grant Riller (16.8 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.1 spg), Jarrell Brantley (13.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.3 apg, 1.3 spg), and Cameron Johnson (9.4 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.7 apg). Defensively, College of Charleston is holding their opponents to an average of 62.9 ppg on 40.1% shooting from the field. The Cougars have a rebound margin of -2.8 and a turnover margin of 2.5.

The Blue Hens are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 road games however, just 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Cougars are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Tuesday games and 15-45 ATS in their last 60 games following a ATS win.

Delaware is a better team then we’ve seen in a couple of years, led by one of the CAA’s best players in Ryan Daly, however, the Blue Hens statistically haven’t been anything more than average this season as they rank T-218th in scoring offense and 178th in scoring defense. College of Charleston comes into conference play as the favorites this season and is led by their defense that ranks 24th in scoring defense and 54th in defensive FG%. Delaware will be a middle of the pack team this season in the CAA, however, College of Charleston is an experienced team that can really get it done on the defensive end and as I think that Delaware will have trouble finding points on the road in this one, I’m taking College of Charleston to cover this home spread.
