In a tight back and forth game in the 2nd half, UNC-Wilmington couldn’t pull off the victory after being held to just two points over the final 3:21 of regulation. UNC-Wilmington shot just 34.8% from the field and 12.5% (2-16) from beyond the arc in the loss. The Seahawks are averaging 79.3 ppg on 43.4% shooting from the field. The Seahawks are averaging 7.1 three-pointers per game on 32.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, UNC-Wilmington has been led by Devontae Cacok (17.7 ppg, 13.2 rpg, 1.2 apg), Jordon Talley (15.8 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 5.8 apg), Ty Taylor II (12.2 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.8 apg), and Jaylen Fornes (10.8 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.8 apg). The Dragons are 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 games overall and 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games vs. CAA opponents. The Seahawks are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games.
Drexel has picked up some nice wins this season against Houston and Rider, however, the Dragons have really struggled overall and come into this game ranked T-242nd in both scoring offense and defense. UNC-Wilmington has one of the best big men in the country in Devontae Cacok, who leads all of college basketball in rebounding, however, it’s been a tough year for the Seahawks as they’ve really struggled defensively, coming into this matchup ranked 340th in scoring defense and 313th in defensive FG%. It’s bene a long season for the Seahawks, however, Drexel is just 2-8 away from home this season and as I think the UNC-Wilmington offense will be able to put up plenty of points in this one, I’m taking the Seahawks to cover this small spread at home.
