Coming up on Thursday from Carver-Hawkeye Arena, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Iowa Hawkeyes will be meeting up in college basketball activity.

Ohio State comes into this one with a 11-4 record overall. The Buckeyes had a five-game win streak broken by North Carolina, but bounced back for a win over Miami (OH) in their last outing. In that one, Ohio State’s Keita Bates-Diop secured 19 points.

Bates-Diop leads the Buckeyes in scoring this year with 18.7 PPG and 8.7 RPG, and CJ Jackson is second on 13.6 PPG. Also in double-figures for the Buckeyes are Jae’Sean Tate (12.5 PPG) and Kaleb Wesson (11.9 PPG).

Over on the Iowa side, they’re sitting at 9-7 on the year. The Hawkeyes had a five-game winning streak going but lost to Michigan in their last outing Tuesday. In that one, Iowa’s Tyler Cook led the way on 28 points.

Cook also leads the Hawkeyes in scoring on the season with 14.8 PPG and 6.4 RPG. Also in the double-figures club for Iowa are Isaiah Moss (11.6 PPG), Jordan Bohannon (11.6 PPG) and Luka Garza (10.1 PPG; 6.5 RPG).

Ohio State is 12-30-1 ATS in their last 43 road games and 2-7 ATS in their last nine Thursday games. The Buckeyes are also 1-4 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.

Meanwhile, the Hawkeyes are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six home games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games overall. Iowa is also 3-1-2 ATS in their last six games following an ATS loss and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four versus the Big Ten.

This should be a pretty fun game to watch, as both these teams have some solid scorers on their top ends. I fear Iowa is overachieving a little bit right now, as their record is propped up by wins over some comparatively lousy teams in the early-going. I like Ohio State here.
