The IUPU-Ft. Wayne Mastodons visit the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles in Summit League college basketball.
The IUPU Ft. Wayne Mastodons are thought to be a weaker version of last season but an 11-6 record says we’ll have to wait and see what this team does heading in to their conference slate. Fort Wayne begins Summit League play off of a 92-59 rout of subdivision Concordia (MI) on Saturday where a 52.9%-35.1% was the biggest difference.

Bryson Scott paced the Mastodons scoring parade with 18 points, seven assists and six steals on 7-15 from the floor while Jordan King and Kason Harrell tossed in 13 points apiece on 11-21 shooting. Xsavier Taylor gave Fort Wayne 12 points and 12 rebounds on 6-10 followed by a ten point effort from Jarius Stevens on 3-6 from the field.
The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles have struggled in the early going but came up big in their Summit League openers as they pounded the visiting Nebraska Omaha Mavericks 93-74 as a five point favorite. Oral Roberts jumped to a 16 point lead heading to the locker room and never let up behind a 47.8%-38.2% shooting edge bing decisive.
Emmanuel Nzekwesi was the top option for the Golden Eagles with 21 points, eleven rebounds and five assists on 7-10 from the floor followed by a 17 point, eight assist effort from RJ Fuqua on 5-11 shooting. Sam Kearns gave Oral Roberts 16 points and five assists while Jontray Harris tossed in 12 points on 5-9.
