The Portland Pilots lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 6-9 (0-2 WCC) on the season after being defeated by the San Francisco Dons, 84-61, this past Saturday. Portland allowed San Francisco to shoot 43.3% from the field and was outrebounded by the Dons by a 51-23 margin. Defensively, Portland is allowing their opponents to average 75.0 ppg on 42.2% shooting from the field.
The Toreros are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games following three or more consecutive road games and 20-7-1 ATS in their last 28 raod games. The Pilots are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 1-8 ATS in their last 9 home games.
San Diego has been a nice surprise to start the season and have solid road wins against Grand Canyon, New Mexico State, and Colorado. The Toreros have been led by their defense that ranks 15th in scoring defense and 5th in defensive FG%. Portland has lost 5 of their last 8 games and has struggled from both ends of the court as the Pilots rank just 206th in scoring offense and 242nd in scoring defense. Portland has been awful at home ATS as of late and as the Toreros have shown that they can play on the road this season, I’m taking Portland to cover this road spread.
