Austin Vereen gave VMI 12 points and five rebounds while the duo of Myles Lewis and Greg Parham chipped in with five points each on 4-9 from the field.
The Wofford Terriers are hoping for a return to the glory years of several seasons ago when this team was the face of the SoCon. Wofford had won five in a row including an upset at North Carolina but North Carolina-Greensboro ended the good times with a 69-67 victory as a 5.5 point underdog. The Terriers led by 14 at the half but were held to 20 points in the second half.
Fletcher Magee paced the Wofford attack with 21 points on 7-19 from the floor including 6-13 on long balls followed by a 15 point, nine rebound effort from Trevor Stumpe on 6-13 from the floor. The Terriers received 12 points, eight boards and three blocks on 6-10 from the field while Storm Murphy chipped in with eight points.
Under is 12-1 in VMI last 13 vs. Southern and under is 15-2 in VMI last 17 overall and VMI are 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 road games. Over is 21-6 in Wofford last 27 home games and over is 20-8-1 in Wofford last 29 Thursday games and over is 36-15 in Wofford last 51 vs. Southern.
The spread looks about right and I usually take the points when that is the case but I think Wofford goes off…
