Saturday afternoon college basketball brings us a bout between the Bradley Braves and the Evansville Purple Aces.
The defense first Bradley Braves have rebounded from a loss in their conference opener to win back to back contests capped off by an 80-71 versus the Valparaiso Crusaders as a 6.5 point home favorite on Wednesday. Bradley held the Crusaders to 32.8% shooting and burned the nets at 51% but did not protect the ball with 18 turnovers.

The balanced Braves attack received 19 points and 12 rebounds on 6-9 from the floor with a 7-8 mark at the stripe. Nate Kennell and Koch Bar tossed in 14 points apiece with Bar posting seven boards while Darrell Brown and Elijah Childs netted 12 and eight points respectively with Brown handing out seven assists.
The Evansville Purple Aces need a win to right the ship in the Missouri Valley even though the season is young. Evansville is off to an 0-3 start in the conference following a 65-63 defeat at the Southern Illinois Salukis as a 4.5 point underdog. The Purple Aces held a slight 51.9%-50% shooting edge with the Salukis sinking more threes and free throws.
Ryan Taylor carried the Evansville offense with 21 points and three yanks on 9-18 from the floor. Blake Simmons gave the Purple Aces 15 points and five boards on 6-9 accuracy while Dru Smith and KJ Riley tossed in ten points apiece with Riley adding six rebounds and six helpers.
