Louisiana was outstanding on both ends of the court and had little trouble securing the victory after taking a 46-17 halftime lead. Louisiana held Appalachian State to 15.8% (3-19) shooting from beyond the arc and outrebounded the Mountaineers by a 46-33 margin in the victory. The Chanticleers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games following a straight up loss. The Ragin’ Cajuns are 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 games vs. Sun Belt opponents and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win.
Coastal Carolina started conference play with an impressive victory over UT-Arlington and although they have struggled in their last two games Texas State and Louisiana-Monroe, the Chanticleers are still a solid team that ranks 141st in scoring offense and 127th in scoring defense. Louisiana has won 10 of their last 11 games and has been outstanding on the offensive end as the Ragin’ Cajuns rank 21st in scoring offense, 72nd in FG%, and 32nd in rebound margin. Louisiana has had a great start to their season, however, I think their record is largely due to a soft non-conference schedule and as I think this Chanticleers team will be one of the better teams in the Sun Belt this season, I’m taking Coastal Carolina and the points.
