Pepperdine had no answers for the Bulldogs in the 1st half of this one and couldn’t fight back after a 15-2 Bulldogs run gave Gonzaga a 22-9 lead midway through the 1st half. Pepperdine allowed Gonzaga to shoot 53.8% from the field and was outrebounded by the Bulldogs by a 39-29 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Waves was Eric Cooper Jr. who had 19 points, 4 assists, 1 rebound, and a steal. On the season, Pepperdine is averaging 72.5 ppg on 45.8% shooting from the field. The Waves are averaging 5.1 three-pointers per game on 30.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Pepperdine will be with Kameron Edwards who is out indefinitely due to a concussion.
The Dons are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 17-5 ATS in their last 22 games following a double-digit loss at home. The Waves are 16-34-1 ATS in their last 51 games overall and 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. WCC opponents.
San Francisco has traded wins and losses since mid-December and has been led by their defense that ranks 58th in scoring defense and 110th in defensive FG%. Pacific has really struggled on both sides of the ball this season as the Tigers rank just 224th in scoring offense, 350th in three-pointers made per game, and 271st in scoring defense. San Francisco can struggle scoring the basketball at times, but still is a talented team that recently beat a very good Nevada team and as I think the Dons defense will give the Tigers trouble, I’m taking San Francisco to cover this small road spread.
