Out at Beeghly Center on Saturday, the Green Bay Phoenix and the Youngstown State Penguins will meet up on the college basketball circuit.
Green Bay is currently sitting at 7-10 on the year. The Phoenix have lost their last two straight games, falling to IUPUI and Cleveland State. In that Thursday game, Green Bay’s Khalil Small put up 30 points.

Small is also the top scorer on the year for Green Bay with 16.8 PPG and 6.5 RPG. Sandy Cohen is the only other Phoenix player in double-digits (14.7 PPG; 6.2 RPG; six games), but Kameron Hankerson (9.6 PPG) is close.
Over on the Youngstown State side, they’re sitting at 4-11 on the season. The Penguins had a nine-game losing streak going but have won their last two games, most recently against Milwaukee Thursday. In that one, Youngstown guard Cameron Morse put up 25 points.
Braun Hartfield leads the Penguins in scoring this season with 14.6 PPG. Morse is the only other Youngstown State player in double-digits (13.8 PPG), and Naz Bohannon is tops in rebounding with 7.0 RPG.
The Phoenix are 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games versus a team with a winning home record. The over is 5-0 in Green Bay’s last five road games and 5-2 in their last seven Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Penguins are 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the Horizon League and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 home games. Youngstown State is also 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games.
Green Bay has been on a weird streak of losing two then winning two since way back on December 9—a stretch of 10 games. If that trend holds, the Phoenix are due to win here, but given the way they’ve played over the last couple outings I’m not so confident it will be in dominant fashion. Still, I think Green Bay has the goods to bang out a cover here.
