Over at EagleBank Arena on Sunday, the Davidson Wildcats and the George Mason Patriots will be meeting up on the college basketball circuit.
Davidson comes into this game with a 6-7 record overall. The Wildcats have won two of their last three games, taking out Akron and Saint Louis in that time. In the Billikens game, Davidson forward Peyton Aldridge put up 21 points.
USA TODAY Sports
This year, Aldridge leads the Wildcats on 21.1 PPG and 6.9 RPG. Kellan Grady is second for Davidson with 15.7 PPG, and Jon Axel Gudmundson is also in double-figures with 13.7 PPG and 6.1 RPG.
Over on the George Mason side, they’re currently 7-8 this year. The Patriots have also won two of their last three, beating Morgan State and Massachusetts. In the UMass matchup, George Mason’s Otis Livingston put up 33 points.
Livingston is the high scorer on the season for the Patriots as well, with 15.5 PPG, and Jaire Grayer has 13.9 PPG with 7.5 RPG. Also in the double-digit club for George Mason are Ganar Mar (11.9 PPG) and Justin Kier (10.3 PPG).
The Wildcats are 1-4 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss and 1-6 ATS in their last seven Saturday games. Davidson is also 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games.
Meanwhile, the Patriots are 19-42-2 ATS in their last 63 games following an ATS win and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight versus the Atlantic 10. George Mason is also 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall and 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games.
Davidson’s got some pretty solid scorers on their roster, but the production falls off a little once you go down the lineup a little. After a stagnant stretch, the Wildcats are playing better but only managed 54 points against Saint Louis. The Patriots have had a couple of duds lately as well, but overall I think they’ve got the offense to take a cover here. I’ll take George Mason.
