The Siena Saints host the Canisius Golden Griffins in Sunday College basketball action.

The Canisius Golden Griffins have turned on the afterburners the past several weeks with five straight victories after an 82-74 win at the Quinnipiac Bobcats as a 3.5 point favorite on Friday. Canisius took a 14 point lead into the locker room and held off a late Bobcats rally behind a 48.1%-35.1% shooting edge.

Isaiah Reese paced the Golden Griffins offense with 20 points and five assists on 6-11 from the floor including 4-6 from long range. Canisius received 19 points from Jermaine Crumpton on 7-10 accuracy with a 4-5 effort on threes while Selvedin Planincic, Malik Johnson and Scott Hitchon combined for 25 points.

The Siena Saints have struggled the past several years and 2017-18 looks like more of the same. Siena has gotten off to an 0-3 start to conference play after an 84-76 los to the visiting Niagara Purple Eagles on Friday.

Jordan Horn exploded for a contest high 29 points on 10-13 from the floor including a 5-8 mark from beyond the arc followed by Prince Oduro who gave the Saints 19 points and five pulls on 9-19 shooting. Siena received eight points and nine rebounds from Evan Fisher on 4-7 from the field.

Under is 7-2 in Canisius last 9 road games and under is 14-5-1 in Canisius last 20 overall and over is 5-2-1 in Canisius last 8 Sunday games. Over is 8-3 in Siena last 11 Sunday games and Siena are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 home games. Canisius are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings and favorite is 23-9-1 ATS in the last 33 meetings.

Unless Siena regroups I think the only choice is the Golden Griffins who look like challenger so far…
