Bramiage Coliseum will be coming alive on Wednesday as the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Kansas State Wildcats match up on the college basketball circuit.
Oklahoma State comes into this game with a 11-4 record overall. The Cowboys had lost two straight games, but won their last outing Saturday versus Iowa State. In that game, Oklahoma State’s Jeffrey Carroll logged 24 points.
USA TODAY Sports
Carroll is the top Cowboys scorer this year with 15.9 PPG and 6.6 RPG. Also in the double-digit club for Oklahoma State are Tavarius Shine (11.8 PPG; 4.1 RPG) and Kendall Smith (11.1 PPG; 3.8 APG).
Over on the Kansas State side, they’re currently 11-4 on the year as well. The Wildcats had won three straight but lost their last two appearances versus West Virginia and Texas Tech. In that Texas Tech game, Kansas State guard Barry Brown logged 24 points.
Brown is the top Kansas State player this season on 15.5 PPG, and Dean Wade has managed 14.9 PPG and 6.7 RPG. Also in the double-digit club for the Wildcats are Kamau Stokes (13.4 PPG) and Xavier Sneed (11.4 PPG).
Oklahoma State is 10-2 ATS in their last 12 road games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight Wednesday games. The Cowboys are also 1-4 ATS in the last five versus the Big 12 and 0-5 ATS in their last five following a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus the Big 12 and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following an ATS loss. Kansas State is also 1-5 ATS in their last six Wednesday games and 1-5 ATS in the last six games overall.
Oklahoma State has had to fight off some tough customers since the beginning of last month, and on the season all of their losses have come to ranked teams. Kansas State lost a tough one to Tulsa last month but since then has only fallen to ranked teams as well. This should be a fun game on both sides, but I’m giving a slight edge to Oklahoma State here.
