The Line: Quinnipiac Bobcats -7 -- Over/Under: 151.5 See the Latest Odds

The Quinnipiac Bobcats host the Marist Red Foxes in a MAAC   college basketball matchup on Wednesday.

The Marist Red Foxes are arguably better then their 3-12 record but the bottom line is it’s going to be difficult to win unless their defense steps up. The defense struggled last time out in an 86-70 defeat at the hands of the Niagara Purple Eagles who held a slight 41.4%-36.9% advantage in marksmanship and a 22-16 edge at the stripe.

The Red Foxes top offensive weapon was Brian Parker with 21 points, six rebounds and five assists on 6-15 from the floor and 7-8 at the line followed by Ryan Funk and Isaiah Lamb with ten points apiece. Marist received another nine points from David Knudsen while Aleksander Dozic chipped in with eight points and six boards.

The Quinnipiac Bobcats don’t have great numbers but their 5-11 belies the fact that this team has been competitive. An 84-58 defeat at the Saint Peter’s Peacocks on Sunday was an exception with the team facing a 15 point deficit at the half. The Peacocks burned he nets at 61.5% and the Bobcats never found the shooting touch at 29.1%.

Cameron Young led the Quinnipiac offense with 18 points, three yanks and three assists on 5-11 from the floor. Chaise Daniels gave the Bobcats 16 points and five rebounds on 5-9 shooting and a 6-8 effort at the foul line while Jacob Rigoni and Rich Kelly combined for 15 points.

Marist are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 Wednesday games. Quinnipiac are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 home games and over is 11-4 in Quinnipiac last 15 home games. Marist are 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings.

The Red Foxes obviously have problems but is Quinnipiac all that far ahead? A definite maybe…
