On Wednesday night at Galen Center, the Colorado Buffaloes and the USC Trojans are matching up in college basketball action.
Colorado comes into this game at 10-6 on the season. The Buffaloes have won their last two games, taking out Arizona State and Arizona. In that Arizona matchup, Colorado’s McKinley Wright logged 16 points.
USA TODAY Sports
Wright is the top scorer for the Buffaloes so far with 16.2 PPG and 5.3 APG. Also in the double-digit club for Colorado are George King (13.0 PPG; 8.1 RPG) and Namon Wright (12.3 PPG; 3.9 RPG).
Over on the USC side, they’re sitting at 11-6 this year. The Trojans had won two games in a row, but lost their last outing versus Stanford. In that Cardinal game, USC forward Chimezie Metu put up 20 points.
Metu is the leading scorer for the Trojans this season on 17.2 PPG and 7.2 RPG< and Bennie Boatwright has 16.4 PPG and 7.3 RPG. Jordan McLaughlin (12.7 PPG) and Elijah Stewart (11.5 PPG) are also in double-digits for USC.
Colorado is 16-34-1 ATS in their last 51 road games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up win. The Buffaloes are also 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win and the over is 4-0 in their last four games following an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Trojans are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a straight-up loss and 5-1 ATS in their last six Wednesday games. USC is also 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following an ATS loss and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Colorado is certainly not an overwhelming team offensively, but they’ve now got two big upsets under their belt. The Buffaloes even held Arizona to just 29 points in the first half of their last game. As for USC, they would be coming in here with a three-game win streak were it not for a 50-footer at the buzzer against Stanford. This should be an interesting matchup, but I think USC has the offensive goods to manage a cover here.
