The Wake Forest Demon Deacons welcome the Virginia Tech Hokies to town in ACC college basketball action on Wednesday.

It’s tough to see where the Virginia Tech Hokies fit in the conference with a 2-2 start after blasting the Pitt Panthers 81-67 as a 16.5 point favorite on Saturday. Virginia Tech forced 16 turnovers and managed nine more looks at the basket which equaled eight more field goals with their 52.6%-45.8% edge in marksmanship.

Kerry Blackshear Jr. was the Hokies best player with a contest high 31 points with four yanks on 12-16 from the floor followed by Nickell Alexander-Walker with 16 points and five rebounds on 6-14 shooting. Virginia Tech received 15 points and four pulls from Ahmed Hill on 6-10 from the field while Justin Robinson added eleven points and ten assists on 5-8 accuracy.

Despite dropping three of four the Wake Forest Demon Deacons have shown improvement but more is needed. Both teams struggled to make shots with Boston College holding a 37.3%-34.8% shooting edge with the real difference coming at the foul line where the Eagles sank 15 more free throws.

Bryant Crawford was the top weapon for the Demon Deacons with 24 points, four yanks and four assists on 8-24 from the floor and a 5-10 mark from distance. Chaundee Brown gave Wake Forest 20 points and six boards while Bryant Crawford rounded out the top scorers with eleven points on 4-9.

Over is 9-4 in Virginia Tech last 13 overall. Over is 16-5 in Wake Forest last 21 vs. Atlantic Coast and under is 9-3 in Wake Forest last 12 overall. Over is 13-3 in the last 16 meetings.

These teams tend to score a lot when they take the hardwood so for now I’ll take the over…
