The Army Black Knights host the Lafayette Leopards in a Patriot League college basketball matchup.
The Lafayette Leopards have been involved in a number of close contests but their 80-75, overtime loss to conference heavyweight Bucknell was likely more painful then most. Alex Petrie kept the Leopards in contention with a contest high 26 points and five pulls on 9-21 from the floor including a 4-9 effort from beyond the arc. Paulius Zalys gave Lafayette 12 points and seven rebounds on 5-11 shooting while Matt Klinewski and Myles Cherry combined for 19 points and 14 rebounds.
The Army Black Knights look to be capable of knocking off anybody in the Patriot League but need to be consistently strong at both ends of the floor. Army comes in off of a 58-54 loss at the American U Eagles where the team won the shooting battle 44.7%-36.4% but were hampered in the half court with 24 turnovers.
The Black Knights were limited at the offensive end of the floor with Matthew Wilson being the best on the floor with a game high 16 points with six rebounds on 7-12 from the floor. Army received nine points and four yanks while Thomas Funk added seven points, four pulls and three assists.
Lafayette are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Patriot League and Lafayette are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss. Over is 16-5 in Army last 21 overall and over is 12-4 in Army last 16 vs. Patriot League and over is 7-3 in Army last 10 home games.
Lafayette has kept games competitive at times and that’s the only choice there is here. Limit mistakes and hit a few shots and avoid a track meet…
