We have some Big Ten conference action on the hardwood, as the Maryland Terrapins take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in a college basketball matchup.

The Maryland Terrapins will look to keep the ball rolling after winning 8 of their last 9 games, including a 91-73 beatdown of Iowa in their last outing. Bruno Fernando led the team with 21 points on 8 of 11 shooting with 7 rebounds, while Anthony Cowan came 2nd with 15 points and a team-high 7 assists. Darryl Morsell came right behind with 14 points and a team-high 8 rebounds, while Michal Cekovsky added 13 points on a perfect 5 of 5 from the floor. Ohio State vs. Maryland - 1/11/18 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Ohio State Buckeyes will look to stay unbeaten in conference play after taking down then #1 Michigan State in their last outing by a final score of 80-64. Keita Bates-Diop led the team with 32 points on 12 of 21 shooting with a pair of threes and team-highs of 7 rebounds and 3 steals. C.J. Jackson came 2nd with 14 points and 6 rebounds, while Jae’Sean Tate came right behind with 13 points and Kam Williams chipped in 10 points to finish off the quartet of double digit scorers for Ohio State in the win. Kaleb Wesson added 8 points with a team-high 5 assists as well in the winning effort for OSU. Bates-Diop leads the team with an average of 20 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, while Jackson is the team’s leading assist man with 4.2 assists per game this season. As a team, Ohio State is scoring 79.4 points per game on 49.2% shooting from the field, 36% from behind the arc and 72.3% from the foul line this season.

Maryland is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 conference matchups. Ohio State is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 conference matchups and 7-15 ATS in their last 22 games following a win while the under is 14-3 in their last 17 home games. Maryland is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.

I’m very impressed with how the Buckeyes took it to Michigan State and took care of Sparty handily, but there could be a letdown in store here against a Maryland team that’s very good in their own right. Plus, the Terps have had all of the success ATS over the last couple of years between these two teams. I’m not saying Maryland wins this outright, but I think this could be a game decided in the final seconds, so I’ll back Maryland with the points here.
