Down at UTSA Convocation Center on Thursday night, the FIU Golden Panthers and the UTSA Roadrunners will be meeting up in college basketball activity.
FIU enters this game with a 7-9 record so far. The Panthers have lost their last two games, falling most recently to UAB on Saturday. In that UAB game, FIU guard Trejon Jacob led the team on 17 points.

Jacob also leads the Panthers in scoring on the season with 16.5 PPG, and Brian Beard is second with 15.2 PPG and 4.9 APG. Also in double-figures for FIU are Eric Lockett (13.9 PPG; 6.3 RPG) and Willy Nunez (10.9 PPG).
Over on the UT San Antonio side, they’re sitting at 9-8 this year. The Roadrunners have lost two of their last three games, falling in their last appearance to Southern Miss. In that one, UTSA’s Jhivvan Jackson put up 30 points.
Jackson is sitting atop the UTSA stat sheet this year with 18.2 PPG, while Keaton Wallace is second on 13.1 PPG. The only other player in double-figures (besides the one game of Adrian Rodriguez) for the Roadrunners is Deon Lyle with 10.1 PPG.
The Panthers are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 Thursday games. FIU is also 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up loss and the under is 3-0-1 in their last four versus Conference USA.
Meanwhile, the Roadrunners are 6-0 ATS in the last six games following a straight-up loss and 4-0 ATS in their last four games following an ATS loss. UTSA is also 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 home games and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight Thursday games.
FIU had a string of games where they were staying in and keeping pace, but really weren’t close in the UAB loss. As for the Roadrunners, they don’t have much going on besides Jackson, and though the team can get hot at times, they’re really not all that reliable. I’m going to go with FIU here, all things considered.
