The Golden Eagles are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following a straight up loss and just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. The Blue Raiders are 44-16-2 ATS in their last 62 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 40-19-1 ATS in their last 60 home games.
Southern Mississippi has played better as of late and although the Golden Eagles rank just 214th in scoring offense, the Golden Eagles have been solid on the defensive end as they rank 168th in scoring defense and 6th in turnover margin. Middle Tennessee continues to show C-USA that they are one of the teams to beat this season and come in with a solid defense that ranks t-73rd in scoring defense and 170th in defensive FG%. Middle Tennessee is an outstanding team that that can challenge even the best teams in the country, however, the Blue Raiders generally play in low scoring affairs and as the Golden Eagles do have a decent duo in Cortez Edwards and Tyree Griffin, I think Southern Mississippi does enough to cover with the points.
