Down at War Memorial Gym on Saturday, the Gonzaga Bulldogs will be tangling with the San Francisco Dons on the college basketball court.
Gonzaga comes in here with a 15-3 record overall this year. The Bulldogs have won their last five games straight, most recently beating Portland on Thursday. In that one, Gonzaga guard Silas Melson put up 23 points.

Heading up the scoring for Gonzaga this year is Johnathan Williams (13.9 PPG; 7.1 RPG), and Josh Perkins is second on 13.5 PPG and 5.7 RPG. Also in double-figures for the Bulldogs are Zach Norvell (12.4 PPG), Killian Tillie (12.2 PPG), Rui Hachimura (10.7 PPG) and Melson (10.4 PPG).
Over on the San Francisco side, they’re currently 10-8 this year. The Dons have lost two of their last three games, falling to Loyola Marymount on Thursday in their last outing. In that one, Dons guards Souled Boum and Frankie Ferrari led the team on 12 points apiece.
Boum sits atop the Dons stat sheet this year with 14.1 PPG, and Chase Foster is second on 11.5 PPG and 5.1 RPG (tied for team-high). Jordan Ratinho is the only other San Francisco player in double-digits with 10.2 PPG this year.
Gonzaga is 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games following a straight-up win, and 19-6-2 ATS in their last 27 road games. The Bulldogs are also 39-17-3 ATS in their last 59 games overall and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Dons are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 Saturday games and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a straight-up loss. San Francisco is also 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games overall and 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games.
Gonzaga is one of the most well-balanced teams in the country, and they’ve been cruising since that loss to a very good San Diego State team on December 21. Gonzaga destroyed Portland 103-57 on Thursday, and though the Dons are probably a better team they won’t be able to keep up. I’ll take the Bulldogs.
