The South Dakota State Jackrabbits will look for another victory to remain unbeaten in conference play to add to their current 6 game winning streak following a 78-75 win over Oral Roberts last time out. Mike Daum led the team with 27 points on 9 of 20 shooting with 4 threes and a team-high 12 rebounds for the double-double, while Reed Tellinghuisen added 24 points on 9 of 17 shooting with a pair of threes. David Jenkins, Jr. added 15 points to round out the trio of Jackrabbits to score in double figures in the win, while Brandon Key was held scoreless in 18 minutes but dished out a team-high 7 assists in the win. Daum leads the team with an average of 23 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, while Key is the team’s leading assist man with 3.7 assists per game this season. As a team, South Dakota State is scoring 86.2 points per game on 48.3% shooting from the field while boasting the 6th-best 3-point percentage in the country, shooting 42.2% from downtown this season along with a 76.2% mark from the foul line.
Denver is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 conference matchups and 4-14 ATS in their last 18 games overall while the over is 8-3 in their last 11 games following a win. South Dakota State is 10-2 ATS in their last 12 home games and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 conference matchups while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. The favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
South Dakota comes into this one in much better form riding a 6 game winning streak, but I think this line is a bit of an overreaction to that. Denver isn’t a world beater by any means, but they’ve at times been able to keep things close with the Jackrabbits and have to be feeling a bit better after their first conference win of the year, so I’ll take a shot with Denver to keep this reasonably close as I just think it’s a case of too many points.
