Coming up on Sunday afternoon from Beasley Coliseum, the Arizona State Sun Devils will be taking on the Washington State Cougars on the college basketball circuit.
The Sun Devils enter this game with a 16-6 record overall. Arizona State has lost two of their last three, including Thursday’s matchup versus Washington. In that game, Arizona State’s Kodi Justice put up 16 points.
USA TODAY Sports
Heading up the scoring for the Sun Devils this year is Tra Holder, with 19.0 PPG and 4.7 RPG with 3.9 APG. Also in double-digits for Arizona State are Shannon Evans (16.5 PPG; 4.1 APG), Justice (13.1 PPG) and Romello White (11.7 PPG; 7.6 RPG).
Over on the Washington State side, they’re sitting at 9-12 on the year. The Cougars have lost their last four straight games, ending with the Wednesday matchup versus Arizona. In that one, Washington State’s Robert Franks put up 25 points.
Franks is also the top scorer for Washington State on the season with 18.0 PPG and 6.9 RPG. The only other Cougars player in double-digits is Malachi Flynn (14.5 PPG; 4.3 APG), but Carter Skaggs isn’t too far off with 9.0 PPG.
The Sun Devils are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games and 1-7-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. Arizona State is also 1-8-2 ATS in their last 11 versus the Pac-12 and 0-4-2 ATS in their last six road games.
Meanwhile, the Cougars are 10-4 ATS in the last 14 home games and 1-6 ATS in the last seven games following a straight-up loss. Washington State is also 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall and 0-4 ATS in the last four versus the Pac-12.
Even though they were losing as often as not, Arizona State was still scoring pretty well up until that Washington game, where they managed just 64 points. As for Washington State, they’re allowing a lot of points during this losing streak—at least 80 in each of the four games. I’m going to go with Arizona State to flex some muscle here and cover.
