Colorado State shot 38.2% from the field and 30.8% (8-26) from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Rams was Deion James who had 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists. The Air Force Falcons lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 8-13 (2-7 MW) on the season after being defeated by the San Diego State Aztecs, 81-50, this past Saturday. Air Force couldn’t get anything going on the offensive end against the Aztecs and couldn’t fight back after San Diego State took a 61-32 lead with 8:00 left in regulation. Air Force shot just 32.8% from the field and 22.2% (6-27) from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Falcons was Lavelle Scottie who had 16 points, 5 rebounds, and a block. On the season, Air Force is averaging 67.4 ppg on 41.1% shooting from the field. The Falcons are averaging 7.4 three-pointers per game on 31.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Air Force has been led by Lavelle Scottie (11.9 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.3 apg), Trevor Lyons (9.1 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 3.0 apg, 1.4 spg), Ryan Swan (8.5 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 1.0 apg), and Ryan Manning (7.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg). Defensively, Air Force is allowing their opponents to average 72.0 ppg on 47.2% shooting from the field. The Falcons have a rebound margin of -1.1 and a turnover margin of 1.6.
The Rams are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 13-5-2 ATS in their last 20 games following a straight up loss. The Falcons are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
Colorado State’s season looks like it’s taking a noise dive as not only have they lost their head coach, the Rams have really struggled on both sides of the ball as they come into this game ranked 238th in scoring offense, 323rd in FG%, and 293rd in scoring defense. Air Force has lost 7 of their last 9 games and have had trouble scoring the basketball all season as they Falcons currently rank 308th in scoring offense and 322nd in FG%. Although it’s been a struggle for Air Force this season, the Falcons have been competitive in their last 3 home games against some of the better Mountain West teams in Boise State, UNLV, and Nevada and as I just can’t trust the Rams on the road, I’m taking Air Force to cover this small home spread.
