Out at Indiana Farmers Coliseum on Thursday, the Cleveland State Vikings and the IUPUI Jaguars will be meeting up in college basketball action.
Cleveland State enters this game with a 6-19 record overall. The Vikings have lost four of their last five outings, most recently to Northern Kentucky on Saturday. In that one, Cleveland State guard Tyree Appleby managed 13 points and three rebounds.
USA TODAY Sports
On the season, Kenny Carpenter is the leading Vikings scorer on 12.8 PPG and 5.0 RPG, while Appleby is second on 11.0 PPG. Also in double-digits for Cleveland State is Bobby Word with 10.6 PPG.
Over on the IUPUI side, they’re sitting at 7-16 on the year. The Jaguars have lost their last five straight games, most recently Sunday to Oakland. In that one, IUPUI’s Aaron Brennan posted 16 points with four rebounds.
Brennan is the top scorer for the Jaguars this year with 12.4 PPG and 4.3 RPG. Ron Patterson is also in double-figures for IUPUI with 11.0 PPG, and TJ Henderson is close on 9.9 PPG for the year.
The Vikings are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a straight-up loss and 11-24-1 ATS in their last 36 road games. Cleveland State is also 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall and 1-4 ATS in the last five versus the Horizon.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars are 16-35 ATS in their last 51 Thursday games and 1-4 ATS in the last five games overall. IUPUI is also 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the Horizon and the under is 6-1 in their last seven overall.
Aside from 77 points against Wright State, the Vikings haven’t done that well on offense lately with 61 points or fewer in their last three losses. That also includes just 91 points in a two-game stretch. That said, Cleveland State won the last game between these two teams 70-67. Still, I think IUPUI gets some revenge here and covers.
