We have some Big 12 conference college basketball action on Saturday afternoon, as the #17 Oklahoma Sooners take on the Iowa State Cyclones.
The #17 Oklahoma Sooners will be looking to turn things around after dropping 3 of their last 4 games, including a 75-73 loss to West Virginia in their last outing. Trae Young led the Sooners with 32 points on 10 of 20 shooting with 4 threes and an 8 of 9 mark from the foul line while Brady Manek added 12 points as the only other Sooner to score in double figures in the losing effort. Khadeem Lattin added 6 points with a team-high 13 rebounds and 4 blocks in the loss as well for OU. Young leads Oklahoma with an average of 29.9 points and 9.3 assists per game, while Latting is the Sooners’ top rebounder with 6.8 boards per game this season. As a team, Oklahoma is scoring the 2nd-most points per game in the country with 89.2 per game on 48% shooting from the field, 38.7% from behind the arc and 75.2% from the foul line this season.

The Iowa State Cyclones will be looking for a big home win to get out of the Big 12 basement after losing 4 of their last 5 games following a 76-58 loss to Texas Tech in their last outing. Cameron Lard led ISU with 22 points on 10 of 11 shooting with a pair of blocks in just 20 minutes on the floor, while Lindell Wigginton added 13 points and a team-high 5 assists as the only other Cyclone to score in double figures in the losing effort. Zoran Talley added 6 points with 8 rebounds while Solomon Young added 8 points and a team-high 9 rebounds as well in the loss. Wigginton leads Iowa State in scoring with 15.9 points per game while Lard leads the Cyclones in rebounding with 7.6 rebounds per game and Nick Weiler-Babb leads Iowa State in assists with 7 helpers per game this season. As a team, Iowa State is scoring 73 points per game on 43.7% shooting from the field, 36.3% from behind the arc and 71.1% from the foul line this season.
Oklahoma is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 conference matchups while the under is 10-2 in their last 12 games following a loss. Iowa State is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 home games against a team with a losing road record while the over is 22-8 in their last 30 conference matchups. Oklahoma is 8-20-1 ATS in the last 29 meetings between these two teams and 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings at Iowa State.
Iowa State hasn’t given us any reason to think that they’ll be able to compete here as they’ve been getting blown out left and right and the loss of Weiler-Babb hurts the Cyclones as he will miss Saturday’s game with knee tendinitis. Oklahoma has been terrible away from home, but the Sooners are a good enough team offensively that a low line with this is a solid play even on the road. I’ll lay the points with Oklahoma here.
