We have some A-10 action on the hardwood as the Richmond Spiders take on the St. Bonaventure Bonnies in a college basketball matchup on Saturday afternoon.

The St. Bonaventure Bonnies will be looking to extend their current 5 game winning streak following a 79-56 win over Saint Louis last time out. Jaylen Adams went off for 44 points on 14 of 18 shooting with a 10 of 13 mark from 3-point range, along with a team-high 6 assists and 3 steals. Courtney Stockard added 14 points with 6 boards and 3 steals of his own as the only other Bonnie to score in double figures in the winning effort. Adams leads St. Bonaventure in scoring with 20 points per game while LaDarien Griffin leads the Bonnies with 6.4 rebounds per game and Matt Mobley leads St. Bonaventure with 2.7 assists per game. As a team, St. Bonaventure is scoring 76.7 points per game on 45.1% shooting from the field, 40% from behind the arc and 74.8% from the foul line this season.
Richmond is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall while the over is 8-2 in their last 10 conference matchups. St. Bonaventure is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 8-3 in their last 11 games overall. Richmond is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
Unless there’s something I’m missing here, I’m not sure why St. Bonaventure is this much of a favorite. Sure, Richmond looked downright awful to start the year, but the Spiders have found their footing in conference play, soaring as high as 2nd in the A-10 standings behind a Rhode Island team that most likely won’t be caught. St. Bonaventure has looked good during this winning streak, but you can argue that Richmond has been in equally good form as of late. I’ll gladly take the points with Richmond in a game I see being decided late.
