Delaware allowed Northeastern to shoot 47.9% from the field and 42.3% (11-26) from beyond the arc in the loss. The William & Mary Tribe lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 15-9 (8-5 CAA) on the season after being defeated by the College of Charleston Cougars, 82-77, this past Thursday. William & Mary struggled with turnovers against the tough Cougars defense and couldn’t fight back after College of Charleston took a 67-58 lead with 7:43 left in regulation. William & Mary shot 51.8% from the field however, lost the turnover battle by a 15-7 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Tribe was Nathan Knight who had 29 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 blocks. On the season, William & Mary is averaging 85.0 ppg on 50.9% shooting from the field. The Tribe are averaging 11.1 three-pointers per game on 44.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, William & Mary has been led by Nathan Knight (18.7 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 2.3 apg, 2.3 bpg), Justin Pierce (14.0 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.0 spg), David Cohn (14.0 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 6.5 apg, 1.5 spg), and Matt Milon (12.8 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.3 apg). Defensively, William & Mary is allowing their opponents to average 82.1 ppg on 49.2% shooting from the field. The Tribe have a rebound margin of 1.0 and a turnover margin of -2.0.
The Blue Hens are 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and just 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Tribe are 34-15-2 ATS in their last 51 games following a straight up loss and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games overall.
Delaware has been hit hard with injuries as of late as they are missing two key pieces in Ryan Daly and Kevin Anderson and have struggled on both sides of the ball as they rank just 251st in scoring offense and T-22nd in scoring defense. William & Mary has one of the most explosive offenses in the country as they rank 12th in scoring offense, 7th in FG%, and 1st in 3P-FG% however, the Tribe has really struggled defensively as they come into this matchup ranked 335th in scoring defense and 341st in defensive FG%. William & Mary generally is a very tough team play when they are on their home court and although I would be tempted with the points if the Blue Hens had all their offensive weapons, I think that the offensive of William & Mary will be too much for the Blue Hens and we see a similar 25-point victory that Tribe got against Delaware in early January. Take William & Mary to cover.
