The Milwaukee Panthers will travel to the Nutter Center to take on the Wright State Raiders this Saturday night in College Basketball action.
The Milwaukee Panthers dropped to 13-14 (6-8 Horizon) on the season after being defeated by the Northern Kentucky Norse, 54-52, this past Thursday. Milwaukee played Northern Kentucky tough throughout the game however, couldn’t fight all the way back after falling behind by a 50-42 margin with just five minutes left in regulation. Milwaukee shot just 35.6% from the field and 25.0% (6-24) from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Panthers was Bryce Barnes who had 13 points, 7 rebounds, and an assist. On the season, Milwaukee is averaging 68.1 ppg on 44.6% shooting from the field. The Panthers are averaging 7.0 three-pointers per game on 32.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Milwaukee has been led by Jeremiah Bell (13.6 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.2 spg), Brock Stull (13.3 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 3.0 apg), Bryce Nze (10.2 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 1.3 apg, 1.3 bpg), and Brett Prahl (8.9 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.1 apg, 1.4 bpg). Defensively, Milwaukee is holding their opponents to an average of 68.7 ppg on 44.4% shooting from the field. The Panthers have a rebound margin of 1.9 and a turnover margin of -0.4.

The Wright State Raiders won their 2nd straight game and improved to 19-7 (11-2 Horizon) on the season after defeating the Green Bay Phoenix, 68-64, this past Thursday. Wright State came out flat against the Phoenix, trailing by a 25-19 margin at halftime, however, found their offensive rhythm in the 2nd half and pulled away after taking a 63-58 lead with 2:22 left in regulation. Wright State shot just 32.8% from the field and 29.4% (10-34) from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Raiders was Grant Benzinger who had 22 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. On the season, Wright State is averaging 72.1 ppg on 43.8% shooting from the field. The Raiders are averaging 6.9 three-pointers per game on 34.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Wright State has been led by Grant Benzinger (14.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.2 apg), Loudon Love (12.1 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 1.1 bpg), Justin Mitchell (11.1 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 3.1 apg, 1.9 spg), and Cole Gentry (9.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.6 apg, 1.3 spg). Defensively, Wright State is holding their opponents to an average of 65.4 ppg on 41.0% shooting from the field. The Raiders have a rebound margin of 2.5 and a turnover margin of 2.2. Wright State will be without Justin Mitchell who is currently out indefinitely due to a personal matter.
The Panthers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall however, are just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games. The Raiders are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games.
Milwaukee has played better as of late, winning 4 of their last 6 games, and although their offense has struggled as they rank just 298th in scoring offense and 381st in 3P-FG%, the Panthers have been decent on the defense end as they come into this game ranked 87th in scoring defense and 134th in rebound margin. Wright State has won 4 of their last 6 games and has been led by their defense that ranks 29th in scoring defense, 45th in defensive FG%, and 54th in turnover margin. Wright State can be inconsistent at times, however, they are 12-1 at home this season and as I think they’ll have a little more success from beyond the arc in this one than they did in their recent win over Green Bay, I’m taking Wright State to cover this spread.
