Out at FedExForum on Sunday afternoon, the UCF Knights and the Memphis Tigers will be meeting up on the college basketball court.
UCF comes into this one with a 14-9 record overall. The Knights have lost three of their last four games, dropping the most recent to Cincinnati on Tuesday. In that one, UCF guard Ceasar DeJesus was the only one in double-figures with 12 points.
USA TODAY Sports
BJ Taylor is the top Knights scorer this year with 12.9 PPG in seven games, and Tacko Fall is sitting on 11.3 PPG with 7.3 RPG in 16 games. Also in double-figures for UCF is AJ Davis with 10.3 PPG and 7.9 RPG.
Over on the Memphis side, they’re sitting at 14-10 this year. The Tigers have lost four of their last five games, most recently Tuesday to Wichita State. In that one, Memphis’ Jeremiah Martin led the team on 16 points.
Martin is also the top scorer on the year with 19.3 PPG, and Kyvon Davenport is second for the Tigers with 12.5 PPG and 6.4 RPG. They’re the only two Memphis players in double-figures so far this year.
The Knights are 6-0 ATS in their last six Sunday games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following a straight-up loss. UCF is also 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games.
Meanwhile, Memphis is 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a double-digit loss at home and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games following a straight-up loss. The Tigers are also 1-4 ATS in the last five games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the American Athletic.
UCF got drilled by Cincinnati on Tuesday, putting up just 13 points in the first half. That makes just 105 points in the last two games for the Knights. As for Memphis, their record lately looks pretty bad, but they’ve been scoring reasonably well on average through their last three games. I’ll take the Tigers here, but I’m not in love with the pick.
