The Air Force Falcons won their 2nd straight game and improved to 10-13 (4-7 MW) on the season after defeating the New Mexico Lobos, 100-92, this past Saturday. In a high scoring game, Air Force fought back from a 53-46 deficit at halftime early in the 2nd half and pulled away for victory after 13-2 Falcons run gave Air Force a 77-67 lead with 7:33 left in regulation. Air Force shot 59.0% from the field and 88.5% (23-26) from the FT-line in the victory. Leading the way for the Falcons was Ryan Swan who had a double-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, and a steal. On the season, Air Force is averaging 69.3 ppg on 42.2% shooting from the field. The Falcons are averaging 7.5 three-pointers per game on 31.9% shooting from beyond the arc. The UNLV Rebels won their 2nd consecutive game and improved to 18-7 (7-5 MW) on the season after defeating the Wyoming Cowboys, 85-70, this past Saturday. UNLV allowed Wyoming to fight back and tie the game early in the 2nd half after holding a 21-point lead late in the 1st half, however, the Rebels were still able to pull away for the victory after a 16-5 run gave UNLV a 65-55 lead with 10:49 left in regulation. UNLV held Wyoming to just 36.5% shooting from the field and 18.2% (6-33) from beyond the arc in the win. Leading the way for the Rebels was Shakur Juiston who had a double-double with 22 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocks. On the season, UNLV is averaging 86.0 ppg on 50.8% shooting from the field. The Rebels are averaging 5.8 three-pointers per game on 34.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensviely, UNLV has been led by Brandon McCoy (17.6 ppg, 10.1 rpg, 1.7 bpg), Shakur Juiston (15.0 ppg, 9.9 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.0 spg), Jovan Mooring (14.1 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 3.3 apg, 1.2 spg), and Jordan Johnson (14.0 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 5.9 apg, 1.2 spg). Defensively, UNLV is allowing their opponents to average 75.7 ppg on 41.7% shooting from the field. The Rebels have a rebound margin of 4.9 and a turnover margin of -1.8.
The Falcons are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Rebels are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall however, are just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games.
Air Force has won 4 of their last 7 games however, the Falcons have struggled on both ends of the court for the most of the year as Air Force currently ranks just T-285th in scoring offense, 302nd in FG%, and 313th in defensive FG%. UNLV has been playing some of its best basketball of the season as of late, winning 4 of their last 5 games and come into this game with an explosive offense that ranks 6th in scoring offense and 7th in FG%. UNLV’s frontcourt of Brandon McCoy and Shakur Juiston will be a nightmare for Air Force to deal with and as the Falcons lost their last two road games to Utah State and San Diego State by an average of 26.5 points, I’m taking UNLV to stay hot and cover this monster home spread.
