The Appalachian State Mountaineers will also look to build on their own back-to-back wins, including an 81-66 road win over Coastal Carolina in their last outing. O’Showen Williams led App State with 20 points on 5 of 9 shooting with 3 triples and a 7 of 8 mark from the foul line. Ronshad Shabazz came 2nd with 19 points on 5 of 11 shooting with a 7 of 10 mark from the foul line and 3 steals while Griffin Kinney added 14 points to round out the scoring in double figures for Appalachian State in the win. As a team, Appalachian State is scoring 77.1 points per game on 43.6% shooting from the field, 34.8% from behind the arc and 65.9% from the foul line this season.
South Alabama is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and 15-6 ATS in their last 21 games overall while the over is 9-2 in their last 11 road games against a team with a winning home record. Appalachian State is 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 home games and 5-15 ATS in their last 20 games following a win while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall. South Alabama is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.
The Jaguars have struggled away from home as of late, however you could argue that South Alabama has been pretty good ATS on the road this year and they’ve had the bulk of the success ATS when these two meet over the last couple of years. However, all but one of South Alabama’s losses on the road in conference play have been by double digits, and the Mountaineers have the more explosive offense of the two, so I’ll lay the bucket with Appalachian State in this one.
