Up at Chiles Center on Thursday evening, the Santa Clara Broncos and the Portland Pilots will be meeting up in college basketball action.
Santa Clara sits at 9-17 on the year so far. The Broncos had lost three straight games, but won their last outing versus San Diego. In that one, Santa Clara guard KJ Feagin logged 32 points to lead the team.

Feagin is also the top scorer for the Broncos on the year with 17.8 PPG and 4.1 APG. Also in double-digits for Santa Clara are Henry Caruso (12.0 PPG; 6.7 RPG) and Josip Vrankic (10.6 PPG; 5.0 RPG).
Over on the Portland side, they’re sitting at 10-17 on the year. The Pilots have lost four of their last six games, and fell to Pacific on Saturday. In that one, the Pilots’ top scorer was D’Marques Tyson with 14 points.
Heading up the scoring for Portland this season is Marcus Shaver with 11.6 PPG. The only other Pilots player in double-digits is Josh McSwiggan (11.3 PPG), but Franklin Porter is close on 9.9 PPG.
The Broncos are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five road games and 7-16-1 ATS in their last 24 games overall. Santa Clara is also 1-3-1 ATS in their last five Thursday games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games following a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Pilots are 4-0 ATS in their last four Thursday games and 5-0-1 ATS in their last six games following an ATS win. Portland is also 7-0-1 ATS in the last eight games overall and 7-0-1 ATS in their last eight versus the West Coast.
Santa Clara has been putting up some weak offensive performances lately, and in that three-game losing streak they failed to crack 60 points. The last time these teams played, however, the Broncos managed a 70-68 win at home. With Portland not scoring so well lately either I think Santa Clara has a good shot at covering here, but there’s really not much to get excited about in this game.
