Out at McAllister Field House on Thursday, the UNC Greensboro Spartans will be taking on the Citadel Bulldogs in college basketball activity.

The Spartans enter this game with a 20-6 record overall. UNC Greensboro has won their last four games, and took out East Tennessee State in their last outing. In that one, Spartans guard Francis Alonso managed 20 points.

Alonso also leads the Spartans in scoring on the season with 16.5 PPG and 3.0 APG. The only other UNC Greensboro player in double-digits is Marvin Smith, with 12.3 PPG and 5.4 RPG to his name.

Over on the Citadel side, they’re sitting at 9-16 on the season. The Bulldogs have lost their last two games, most recently to Samford on Saturday. In that one, Citadel forward Zane Najdawi managed 33 points.

Najdawi heads up the scoring for the Citadel this season with 14.9 PPG and 4.3 RPG. Also in double-figures for the Bulldogs is Matt Frierson with 13.5 PPG, and Kaelon Harris is close on 9.8 PPG.

The Spartans are 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the Southern. UNC Greensboro is also 5-1 ATS in their last six following an ATS win and the under is 4-0 in their last four Thursday games.

Meanwhile, the Citadel is 4-0 ATS in their last four games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Bulldogs are also 5-1 ATS in their last six versus the Southern and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 Thursday games.

UNC Greensboro has been on a tear lately, losing just two games in this calendar year. The Spartans have held their opponents to 56 points or fewer in three of the last four games, so they’re playing great defense. The last time these two teams met it was a 72-58 UNCG win at home. I think the Spartans will keep rolling here.
