Up at Kress Events Center on Friday, the UIC Flames and the Green Bay Phoenix will be meeting up on the college basketball court.
The Flames come into this one with a 15-12 record on the season. UIC had won seven straight games, but lost their last outing to Cleveland State. In that one, Flames guard Marcus Ottey put up 14 points.

Leading the UIC roster in scoring this season is Dikembe Dixson with 13.7 PPG to his credit. Also in double-figures for the Flames is Marcus Ottey (13.6 PPG), while Tai Odiase (9.3 PPG) is pretty close to that threshold.
Over on the Green Bay side, they’re sitting at 10-18 on the year so far. The Phoenix have lost their last three straight games, falling most recently to Northern Kentucky on Saturday. In that game, Green Bay’s Khalil Small put up 20 points.
Small is also the top scorer for Green Bay on the season with 17.6 PPG and 6.3 RPG. Sandy Cohen (14.4 PPG; 5.0 RPG) is the only other Phoenix player in double-digits, but Kameron Hankers (9.8 PPG) is close.
UIC is 4-0-1 ATS in their last five Friday games and 6-0 ATS in their last six road games. The Flames are also 7-1 ATS in the last eight overall and 7-1 ATS in their last eight versus the Horizon League.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six overall and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six versus the Horizon. Green Bay is also 3-1-1 ATS in their last five home games and 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight Friday games.
UIC’s home loss to a not-so-good Cleveland State team is something of a head-scratcher, but prior to that the Flames had been on a tear during this calendar year, winning 10 of 11 games. UIC took a win 84-73 the last time these teams met, but I think Green Bay has enough offense to at least keep it close this time. I’ll take the Phoenix.
