Coming up on Saturday from Taco Bell Arena, we’ve got college basketball action looming between the Air Force Falcons and the Boise State Broncos.
Air Force comes into this one with a 10-14 record overall. The Falcons have lost four of their last six, including a loss to UNLV on Wednesday. In that game, Air Force’s Trevor Lyons put up 19 points.
USA TODAY Sports
The only Air Force player averaging in double-figures so far this year is Lavelle Scottie with 12.2 PPG and 4.3 RPG to his name. That said, Lyons (9.9 PPG) and Ryan Swan (9.5 PPG) are pretty close for the Falcons.
As for Boise State, they’re sitting at 20-6 on the season. The Broncos have lost their last two games, falling to Utah State and Nevada. In the Wednesday game, Boise State guard Lexus Williams managed 15 points.
Chandler Hutchison is the leading scorer for the Broncos this year with 20.0 PPG and 7.7 RPG. Also in the Boise State double-digit club are Christian Sengfelder (11.5 PPG; 6.5 RPG) and Justinian Jessup (11.3 PPG).
Air Force is 6-1 ATS in their last seven following a straight-up loss and 6-1 ATS in the last seven Saturday games. The Falcons are also 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 versus the Mountain West.
Meanwhile, Boise State is 1-3-1 ATS in their last five following an ATS loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five home games. The Broncos are also 1-4 ATS in their last five overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the Mountain West.
Air Force has had some trouble putting points on the board at times this year, and they’re also surrendering a lot on the other side. Still, the Falcons have scored pretty well over their last three games, with at least 73 in each outing. The Broncos took a 70-64 road win the last time these two teams met up, and I think the Falcons have just enough offense to eke out a cover here. I’ll take Air Force.
