Out at Xfinity Center College Park on Saturday, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Maryland Terrapins will be meeting up on the college basketball court.

Rutgers enters this game with a 13-15 record overall. The Knights had lost seven games in a row, but won their last outing in OT versus Northwestern. In that one, Rutgers guard Corey Sanders logged 30 points.

Sanders also leads the Knights on the season with 14.5 PPG and 4.5 RPG, while Deshawn Freeman has 11.4 PPG and 7.5 RPG. Also in double-figures for Rutgers is Geo Baker (11.0 PPG).

Over on the Maryland side, they’re sitting at 17-11 on the year. The Terrapins have lost two of their last three, and fell to Nebraska on Tuesday. In that game, Maryland’s Bruno Fernando put up 21 points.

Leading the Terrapins in scoring this season is Anthony Cowan with 15.9 PPG and 4.4 RPG with 5.1 APG. Also in double-digits for Maryland is Kevin Huerter with 14.7 PPG, 5.4 RPG and 3.5 APG.

Rutgers is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games and 22-45 ATS in the last 67 versus the Big Ten. The Knights are also 9-23 ATS in their last 32 road games and 2-6 ATS in the last eight overall.

Meanwhile, the Terrapins are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss and 7-1-1 ATS in the last nine home games. Maryland is also 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games following an ATS loss and 28-11-4 ATS in their last 43 Saturday games.

Rutgers has been in a scoring slump for most of their Big Ten play, as they put up just 98 points versus Indiana and Nebraska. Maryland hasn’t exactly been consistent, but the Terrapins are probably holding all the cards here. I’ll take Maryland for the cover.
