On Sunday evening at Mackey Arena, the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Purdue Boilermakers will be meeting up on the college basketball court.

Penn State comes in here at 19-9 on the season. The Nittany Lions have won their last four games straight, and took out Ohio State on Thursday. In that game, Penn State guard Tony Carr put up 30 points.

USA TODAY Sports

Carr is the leading scorer for the Nittany Lions on the year as well with 19.6 PPG. Also in the double-digit club for Penn State are Lamar Stevens (15.2 PPG), Mike Watkins (12.9 PPG; 9.5 RPG), Josh Reaves (10.9 PPG) and Shep Garner (10.3 PPG).

As for Purdue, they’re currently 23-5 on the year. The Boilermakers have lost their last three straight games, falling most recently on Thursday to Wisconsin. In that game, Purdue guard Carsen Edwards managed 22 points.

Edwards tops the Purdue scorers this year on 17.1 PPG, while Isaac Haas and Vincent Edwards are second with 14.9 PPG. Also in double-figures for the Boilermakers is Dakota Mathias with 11.7 PPG and 4.4 APG.

Penn State is 6-1 ATS in the last seven games overall and 6-1 ATS in their last seven versus the Big Ten. The Lions are also 4-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five following an ATS win.

Meanwhile, the Boilermakers are 1-4 ATS in their last five Sunday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five home games. Purdue is also 0-6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall and 0-6-1 ATS in their last seven versus the Big Ten.

Penn State is turning a lot of heads lately, as they’ve won six of their last seven games and beaten a good Ohio State team twice in that span. The Nittany Lions have put up at least 74 points in each of their last four. Purdue’s no slouch either, but they haven’t been able to get past 65 points in any of their last three and obviously should have beaten Wisconsin. In any case, the line is very inviting so I like Penn State to keep it going here.
