Tuesday night college basketball pits the Akron Zips against the Bowling Green Falcons.
The Akron Zips are rebuilding and their record says they have had plenty of growing pains. Akron has dropped six of seven following a 78-68 defeat at Kent State where the team was outshot 42.6%-39.6% while falling short at the foul line 22-17.

The Zips offense revolved around two players with Malcolm Duvivier topping the team with 27 points on 8-16 shooting including 4-9 from long distance and 7-9 from the line. Akron received 20 points from Daniel Utomi on 6-11 accuracy with a 3-3 mark on threes an 5-5 at the charity stripe.
The Bowling Green Falcons saw a much needed three game winning streak go by the wayside in a 95-82 loss at Buffalo. Bowling Green fell behind by 15 points after 20 minutes and could not make a comeback with Buffalo holding 51.6%-41.3% edge in marksmanship.
Justin Turner was the Falcons to weapon with 23 points on 8-19 from the floor and 5-5 at the stripe with Demajeo Wiggins adding 13 points and 15 rebounds on 5-10 shooting. Derek Koch gave Bowling Green 12 points and nine boards while Antwon Lillard and Dylan Frye tossing in eight points.
