In Southern Conference Tournament action on the college basketball circuit from US Cellular Center on Saturday, the Chattanooga Mocs will be taking on the East Tennessee State Buccaneers.
Chattanooga enters this game with a 10-22 record overall. The Mocs posted an ugly eight-game losing streak from December into January, but then managed to go .500 over their next six games. The Mocs logged a five-game losing streak after that before taking out Samford on Friday.

In that Samford game, Chattanooga was led by forward Makinde London, who posted 25 points and 14 rebounds off the bench. Guard Rodney Chatman also had a nice bench game for the Mocs with 18 points of his own.
Over on the East Tennessee State side, they’re currently 23-8 this season. The Buccaneers have lost four of their last five games, including their last outing Sunday versus Furman. In that game, ETSU guard Desonta Bradford put up 19 points.
Bradford is the top scorer for East Tennessee State this year on 15.5 PPG and 5.8 RPG. The only other Buccaneers player averaging in double-figures this season is Jalan McCloud with 11.5 PPG.
The Mocs are 16-35 ATS in their last 51 versus the Southern and 2-5 ATS in their last seven neutral-site games. Chattanooga is also 7-20 ATS in their last 27 Saturday games and 1-7 ATS in the last eight games overall.
Meanwhile, East Tennessee State is 20-5-1 ATS in their last 26 Saturday games and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six versus the Southern. The Bucs are also 1-4-1 ATS in the last six overall and the under is 5-1 in their last six Saturday games.
The Mocs hadn’t done much on offense for a four-game stretch (a max of 65 points) before hanging 89 on Samford. That said, Chattanooga posted losses in their two games against East Tennessee State this year 85-66 and 81-61. The Bucs have been giving up a lot of points lately though (at least 71 in each of their last three), so I’m going with the Mocs to cover here.
