USA TODAY Sports

The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns won their 6th straight game and improved to 26-4 (16-1 Sun Belt) on the season after defeating the Arkansas State Red Wolves, 85-74, this past Thursday. Louisiana led by a 48-36 margin at halftime and had no trouble securing the victory after taking a 66-43 lead with 13:03 left in regulation. Louisiana shot 49.2% from the field and 47.6% (10-21) from beyond the arc in the win. Leading the way for the Ragin’ Cajuns was Frank Bartley IV who had 18 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. On the season, Louisiana is averaging 84.8 ppg on 47.1% shooting from the field. The Ragin’ Cajuns are averaging 8.8 three-pointers per game on 37.1% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Louisiana has been led by Frank Bartley IV (17.4 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.3 spg), JaKeenan Gant (14.6 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.0 apg, 2.3 bpg), Johnathan Stove (11.0 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 1.8 apg), and Bryce Washington (10.7 ppg, 10.6 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.3 spg). Defensively, Louisiana is allowing their opponents to average 70.8 ppg on 42.9% shooting from the field. The Ragin’ Cajuns have a rebound margin of 7.8 and a turnover margin of 1.5.

The Trojans are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a winning home record however, are just 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Ragin’ Cajuns are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 home games.

Little Rock has lost 11 of their last 12 games and has really been hurt by their offensive production this season as the Trojans come into this matchup ranked just 342nd in scoring offense, 277th in FG%, and 319th in 3P-FG%. Louisiana is the team to beat in the Sun Belt this season and has been outstanding on both sides of the ball as the Ragin’ Cajuns currently rank 10th in scoring offense, 136th in scoring defense, and 13th in rebound margin. Louisiana is a perfect 14-0 at home this season however, this is a bunch of points to cover and as the Ragin’ Cajuns already have the Sun Belt regular season title secured, I think I’m going to take Little Rock to get a backdoor cover in this one. Take Little Rock and the points.
