Semifinal college basketball action from the NEC gives us a bout between the Robert Morris Colonials and the Wagner Seahawks takes place on Saturday.
The Robert Morris Colonials used to be the face of the NEC and are looking for a return to glory after knocking off Mount St. Mary’s 60-56 in the quarterfinals. Robert Morris rallied from a ten point deficit after 20 minutes behind a 47.8%-38.5% shooting edge.

Matty McConnell sparked the Colonials with 18 points and nine rebounds on 7-11. Dachon Burke gave Robert Morris 14 points and six helpers on 5-14 and 3-4 at the stripe followed by John Williams with eleven points on 4-7 including 3-5 from distance.
The Wagner Seahawks were the regular season champions of the NEC with strong scoring and steady defense doing plenty of damage. That trend carried over in to a quarterfinal matchup with Central Conn. State where a 49ﬁ’-34.9% edge in marksmanship was the difference.
JoJo Cooper carried the Seahawks offense with 20 points and seven helpers on 7-9 with Romone Saunders adding 18 points and ten rebounds on 5-10. Wagner received 17 points from Blake Francis on 5-11 followed by Nigel Jackson with ten points and five pulls.
