College basketball’s Horizon League Tournament will be back in action on Saturday from Little Caesar’s Arena as the Green Bay Phoenix take on the Wright State Raiders.
Wright State enters this game with a 22-9 record overall. The Raiders have won three of their last four games, and took out UIC on Sunday in their last appearance. In that game, Wright State center Loudon Love put up 23 points.
USA TODAY Sports
On the season, Grant Benzinger is the top Wright State scorer on 14.6 PPG while Love is sitting at 12.7 PPG and 9.7 RPG. Also in double-figures for the Raiders are Justin Mitchell (11.1 PPG; 7.1 RPG) and Mark Hughes (10.1 PPG).
Over on the Green Bay side, they’re sitting at 13-19 on the year. The Phoenix have won their last three straight games, and took out Detroit Mercy on Friday. In that game, Green Bay’s leading scorer was guard Kameron Hankerson with 36 points.
Sandy Cohen also had a nice game for the Phoenix on Friday, as he posted a double-double on 15 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Khalil Small also doubled up with 19 points and 10 rebounds on the night.
Green Bay is 3-0-1 ATS in their last four Saturday games and 5-1 ATS in the last six overall. The Phoenix are also 5-1 ATS in the last six versus the Horizon League and 7-3 ATS in the last 10 neutral-site games.
Meanwhile, Wright State is 1-5 ATS in their last six following an ATS win and 0-5 ATS in the last five following a straight-up win. The under is 8-3 in Wright State’s last 11 overall and 8-3 in their last 11 versus the Horizon League.
Wright State has had a few scoring duds here and there since mid-January or so, but all in all they’ve been playing solid. The Raiders won both meetings between these two teams this year 80-67 and 68-64. That said, with the Green Bay offense chugging along these last few games, I’m going to go with the Phoenix to keep pace here.
