The Alcorn State Braves open SWAC college basketball playoffs at the Prairie View A&M Panthers.
The Alcorn State Braves have had struggles in most areas at one point in time which T we saw with the team losing three of four to end the regular season. Alcorn State finished the season with a 79-70 loss to Texas Southern where neither end of the floor was able to carry the load.

Troymain Crosby was the big weapon for the Braves with 20 points and six boards followed by Dante Sterling with 12 points. AJ Mosby and Maurice Howard combined for 21 points while Devon Brewer added nine points and nine rebounds.
The second seed Prairie View A&M Panthers made a strong push over the final five weeks of the season with wins in eight of ten to lose the SWAC by a single game to Grambling. Prairie View ended the regular season with four straight wins after downing Southern 77-79.
The Panthers rode the production of Gary Blackston and he poured in a contest high 24 points followed by Zachary Hamilton with 22 points and six pulls. Dennis Jones gave Prairie View A&M 13 points while JD Wallace hauled in 13 rebounds.
